ME AND MY DESERT

This is a picture that was taken of me by my grand daughter (I think it was her) enjoying the weather.

I was going to put a picture on here this a.m. of a wool sweater that I just finished but I can't find the picture. I thought sure I had taken a picture of it but it simply can't be found. I plan on sending it to Kala. When would I ever wear a wool sweater here in my desert? I will take a picture of it later along with the SOU'WESTER hat I made to go with it. If I have enough yarn left I plan on making mittens also.

Hi Connie, No I don't suppose wool would work well where you live!
It's warm here today. I promised I'd not complain at all this summer after all the griping I did this winter!
Have a wonderfully warm/hot week!
God bless,
Brenda

Hey Brenda:

I have a friend/former choir director in the church that I attended for 17 years (Linchon Heights Christian Church--Phoenix) who was born and spent her whole life in Phoenix (except for her college years) who, when someone complains about the heat says: "It's the desert, get used to it!" Even tho' I hate the cold and look forward to Summer, the thermometor in my car, on the way home from church, said it is
107 degrees today and it is not even 3 p.m. yet! 3 p.m. is always the apex heat of the day. It is hot enough that I am only going outside long enough to move the water in my veggie garden.

This is such a nice picture. I have done lots of knitting and crocheting in the past, but now I just don't have time. I've got this computer to play with. I am learning it a little bette already.
The insoles I got are from a place called Foot Solutions. I thought a long time before getting them. $400 dollars is a lot of money for insoles. I think they are worth the money though.

Should have proofread the comment above. "a little bette"? Oh well, you know what I meant.

I love this picture of you! That was when a huge storm was blowing in all around us and making the sun take on this really pretty glow...
We sat out in it 'til finally the rain came. And it poured! I miss that AZ weather so much!

Hi, Connie, and thanks for your comment on my 100 Things blog.

I live in Bay, Arkansas, 5 miles south of Jonesboro in Northeast Arkansas, if you know where Jonesboro is. It's on Highway 63 which runs through Bay, Jonesboro and right on through Mammoth Spring and Thayer.

I've been to Mammoth Spring and Thayer many times over the years. We love to go to the park at the spring and watch the water and the ducks, geese and other wildlife. It's a beautiful place!

I have a regular blog that's my main blog if you'd like to visit:

And I have a recipe blog if you'd like to check it out:

I enjoyed my visit here. I'll be back to visit again soon!

Hugs,

Diane

Diane: My grandpa used to be an engineer on the Frisco railroad and I heard the name Jonesboro many times as I was growing up. If I can accomplish it I will take a picture of the spring of Mammoth Springs. The picture is a post card that I have saved for many years and it shows what the springs looked like when I was growing up. You cannot even believe what it used to look like. Pretty now but nothing like it used to be.

Hwy. 63 used to run right in front of my grandma and grandpa's house. I was born in that house.

Isn't it amazing these days how we can make connections and make new "friends" ?

I have visited your other sites and enjoyed them also.
